Believe it or not, Latto and 21 Savage have been together for almost six years. Despite being some of the biggest rappers in the game, they’ve actually managed to maintain an extremely private relationship since 2020, when they dropped their first collab, “Pull Up.”

Since then, the Atlanta-based emcees have taken multiple vacations, hopped on a few tracks with each other, and—most recently—welcomed their first baby together. While they opt to keep their romance largely out of the spotlight, it seems to be working, since they’re still going strong as brand-new parents.

It was a matter of time until the ATL-based rappers hopped on a track together. Their first collab, “Pull Up,” dropped in August 2020, kick-starting this whole connection.

Fans raised eyebrows when the pair seemingly took a trip to Puerto Rico for Latto’s 21st birthday. According to reports, fans noticed they shared similar posts tagging the same location, until the “redrum” rapper swapped his location to Miami to avoid the rumor mill.

Latto and 21 seemingly take another vacay together, per screenshots obtained by The Shade Room. Eagle-eyed followers noticed that Latto posted a pic from the getaway, taken by a shadow that resembles 21.

The duo drops their second collaboration, “Wheelie.”

During an interview with Apple Music, she said, “[21 Savage and I] already had a relationship because of my previous album. We had a song called ‘Pull Up.’ When I heard ‘Wheelie,’ after I did the first verse, I’m like, ‘I don’t even want to do the second verse,’ so I’m thinking of people that would be perfect for that sound. It reminded me of ‘Pull Up,’ as far as that sticky, choppy, catchy flow. He put the second verse on there, sent it right back. That’s Atlanta culture, strip-club culture—that’s the ratchet song, the turn-up song on the album.”

During a live chat on Clubhouse, 21 denies being in a relationship with a celeb amid dating rumors with Latto, saying, “I’ve been hot for a long time. I don’t do all the antics and shit. I don’t got a celebrity girlfriend.”

According to pics obtained by The Shade Room, Latto got a tattoo of 21’s real name, Shéyaa. Fans also noticed they might have matching red ink behind their ears, as 21 also has Latto’s real name, Alyssa, tattooed.

In her Cosmopolitan cover story, Latto reveals why she keeps her relationship private, saying, “If something is special to me, I’m going to keep it close to me because everything else has to be front and center about my life.”

At the time, she revealed it was “the longest relationship I’ve ever been in,” adding, “You know what, I’m crazy, but I’m not that crazy. I let him have his time and he lets me have mine. We trust each other. When he’s at home, like now, he’s probably gambling with his friends. I let him do him. We’ve built that trust, and I think people will probably be caught off guard or shocked at who I am in a relationship versus my public persona.”

After Latto posted updates of her Sims on her Instagram Stories (honestly, so real of her), fans noticed that her avatars looked eerily similar to her and 21.

During an interview with Apple Music promoting her album, Sugar Honey Iced Tea, Latto kept details about her relationship status to a minimum, saying, “It ain’t really nobody’s business. Like, listen to the music, and you’ll know what you need to know.”

Latto doubled down on her intentions of keeping her love life private during an appearance alongside Mariah the Scientist on Angel Reese’s Unapologetically Angel podcast. “At this rate, I just feel like I’m gonna have me a baby in secret and I’mma have my marriage in secret,” she admitted at the time.

Latto hopped on the couch at The Jennifer Hudson Show to chat about Sugar Honey Iced Tea, and she admitted that her love life influenced some of the tracks.

“As I grow as a woman, I kind of am growing as an artist. So I got, like, relationships and breakups, friendships…experiences to talk about now, and love is definitely one of them,” she said at the time.

Per photos published by a gossip account, 21 and Latto were spotted on another vacation together, this time cozying up on a boat.

Latto seemingly confirms she and 21 are, in fact, an item when TMZ catches her on her way to dinner with “her husband.” When the reporter asks the “Big Mama” rapper if she’s tired of people talking about 21, Latto responded (and birthed an iconic TikTok sound), saying, “No. My man, my man, my man!”

21 Savage enlists Latto for his track, “POP IT,” making this their third collab.

Latto officially announces her pregnancy and album, Big Mama, by dropping her stunning cover on her completely wiped Instagram feed.

Later in the month, she opened up about her private relationship with 21, without naming him during an interview with PAPER magazine.

“I’ve been with my man for years now, and it ain’t going nowhere. To me, that’s clearly a result of me moving and operating how I do,” she said, later explaining why they’ve maintained such privacy about their years-long romance.

“When it comes to female rappers, female artists — we’re told that we have to put so much of our life out there, and then it becomes too much about our personal life and not enough of the music,” she explained. “That’s how stuff just ends up crashing and burning, because you got too many cooks in the kitchen. I’m my own person outside of my relationship as well. I don’t want to make that the forefront of my existence, my career. I got a man at home, I’m happy and I’m well taken care of, and that’s about all anyone needs to know.”
