If your TikTok algorithm is anything like mine (filled with fan edits of men emerging from lakes in billowing white blouses), you might have noticed that The Other Bennet Sister already has a ton of fans. So…where/when/how can you watch it? About that!
The Other Bennet Sister will debut in the United States on May 6, 2026. You’ll be able to stream it on BritBox, which houses all your favorite British shows in one place. Sign up at the link below, or via Amazon Prime.
The show just aired its full season on the BBC over in the UK! It’s available to stream online on the BBC iPlayer, but only if you’re in the United Kingdom.
The Other Bennet Sister will be 10 episodes. A dream! BritBox will release the first three episodes, followed by new episodes weekly.
The show is about Mary Bennet from Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, but it’s based on Janice Hadlow’s novel. I’ve read it, and am here to say it’s delightful and well-worth a read before the show drops state-side next month.
Per the (spoiler free!) log-line, “The new drama brings Mary Bennet—the oft-overlooked middle sister in Pride and Prejudice—into the spotlight. The Other Bennet Sister’s story begins at Longbourn, the Bennet family home, where Mr. and Mrs Bennet preside over a lively household of five unmarried daughters: Jane, Elizabeth, Mary, Kitty, and Lydia. As society’s pressures mount, the Bennet sisters navigate the glittering yet precarious world of Regency England, where marriage is both aspiration and necessity. While her sisters pursue romance and social triumph, Mary embarks on a very different path. Leaving Longbourn behind, she travels to London to live with her aunt and uncle, Mr and Mrs Gardiner, in their elegant home on Gracechurch Street. There, Mary begins a journey of self-discovery, stepping out of the shadows and into her own story. Iconic settings from Pride and Prejudice, include the Meryton Assembly Ball and the Netherfield Ball, where fortunes and futures are decided under glittering chandeliers.”
