Even though America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders just returned for season 3 on Netflix, the DCC training camp has already begun for the 2026–2027 season, which means fans already know who won’t be returning for the show’s inevitable fourth season. Following season 3, several fan faves are hanging up their uniforms and moving on from the squad…and not all by choice.
The DCC confirmed that seven veterans retired ahead of this coming season—Reece Weaver, Megan McElaney, Madeline Salter, Kleine Powell, Lea Tunnell, Kelee Norris, and Tori Skillings—while Karley Swindel was cut from the team ahead of training camp.
Wondering what they’re all up to following their retirement from the DCC? Here’s what Reece, Megan, Madeline, Kleine, Lea, Kelee, and Tori are up to now (and what exactly went down with Karley’s controversial cut from the team).
With 1.2 million Instagram followers, Reece is perhaps the biggest star to come out of the series, which is why fans were particularly devastated when she revealed her retirement after three years on the team at the end of season 3.
It’s unclear what the future holds for Reece and her husband, Will Allman, but it seems like the two could be headed back to Alabama.
Megan continues to thrive after her time as a DCC group leader and 2025–2026 season Veteran of the Year recipient. On top of a side hustle as a bridal MUA, Megan also co-hosts her podcast, Side Kicks, with her brother and pro dancer at Radio City Music Hall, Sean McElaney.
She’s also signed to one of the top modeling and talent agencies, Wilhelmina, as a digital creator with more than 106K Instagram followers. Love this for her!
Madeline has a long history with DCC, since her mom was on the squad back in the ’80s, and her dad was a longtime cinematographer for the Cowboys. She’ll always be a legacy member of the squad, but after retirement, Madeline has been locked in on planning her wedding with Joe McBride and posting behind-the-scenes content in partnership with brands like The Knot and Bloom during the process. And according to her Instagram profile, she’s now a married woman as of June 2026.
She expressed her gratitude for DCC in a lengthy Instagram caption earlier this month, where she wrote, in part, “Being a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader has been one of the greatest honors of my life, and I’ll never take for granted the experiences, opportunities, and lifelong friendships this team has given me.”
Aside from being a DCC, Kleine works as a digital media specialist and freelance photographer and has even dabbled in content creation. Not only does she constantly travel and post photos from each trip, but she also drops new videos on her YouTube channel every Thursday. It seems to be working out quite nicely, as she’s racked up more than 60K subscribers and 350K Instagram followers.
As for her personal life? Kleine is still married to Luc Powell, with whom she shares two fur-babies/cats, Momo and Pooch.
Lea is killing it these days, thanks to her blossoming career as an influencer. She’s got an audience of nearly 48K followers on Instagram, where she collaborates on sponcon with brands like PepperMayo, Vidanta, and Formula 1.
She’s also been dating her boyfriend, Mitchell Hammond, for nearly two years now.
Kelee officially joined DCC as a rookie during the 2021 NFL season, but she’s since retired after four years on the squad. Her Instagram—which boasts more than 39K followers—shows that she’s living her best life, traveling and staying in tune with her Christian faith.
Keep shining, girl!
Tori is another beloved DCC member who left after five years on the squad. After her retirement was announced, she posted a cute Disney Channel-inspired video with Megan and Kelee on June 23. Naturally, fans found it hard to accept her exit from the team.
As for what Tori’s up to these days, she’s still going strong with her husband, Johnmichael Daniel, after nearly two years of marriage. She also spends a lot of time visiting animal shelters and encouraging her 107K followers to adopt pets through her Instagram account, @torisdogtails.
Though she’s a fan-favorite veteran member of DCC, Karley was reportedly cut from the squad after an injury the previous season. Per screenshots posted by Instagram fan account @DCC_updates, an insider on Reddit revealed the alleged reason behind Karley’s exit also involved some behind-the-scenes drama with Kelli Finglass and Judy Trammell.
The source alleged that Karley had taken a meeting with Kelli and Judy to talk about her future with the squad, where she “exposed behavior by someone that unfortunately holds more power than K&J.”
They later added, “Karley found her voice and discussed hard conversations that needed to happen and instead of fixing the issue, they got rid of her. Just a sad situation. The team is in shambles and does not know how to navigate forward as they saw Karley being the one leading them next year. This has definitely put a huge crack in the organization.”
Despite efforts to train herself back to health with physical therapy after her injury (and amid her wedding planning!), Karley was eventually cut from DCC.
After catching wind of the rumored report, fans started a social media movement with the hashtag #JusticeForKarley. According to People, Karley had reposted a fan-made #JusticeForKarley video on her Instagram Stories on June 10.
No one from DCC has confirmed or denied the allegations surrounding her exit, but Karley seems to be doing well. She recently tied the knot with her longtime love, Landon Sandell, and according to her Instagram bio, she’s starting to give private choreography lessons. Sign me up!!
