A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder Season 2 drops on Netflix on May 27, 2026, providing us with our Emma Myers fix between seasons of Wednesday. Will there be more? Here’s what we know about A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder season 3.
The thriller series is based on a 2019 novel by author Holly Jackson. It’s about a girl called Pip, played by Myers, who does her EPQ (an extended project in the UK school system that’s like a mini-thesis or dissertation) on a local disappearance. Before she knows it, she’s got murder mystery drama on top of her regular high school drama. Spoiler alert, she solves the case in season 1. Therefore, in the second season, Pip takes the natural next step for a Gen Z investigator: podcasting.
As of the season 2 release, neither the BBC nor Netflix has announced plans for a third. We might be waiting a while, to be perfectly honest. The series was renewed for a second season in November of 2024, according to Us Weekly, several months after the first season dropped on BBC iPlayer and Netflix.
I’m so glad you asked. Jackson has actually written three books about Pip and her friends. There’s A Good Girl's Guide to Murder; Good Girl, Bad Blood; and As Good As Dead. In 2021, she published a prequel novella called Kill Joy set during a murder mystery party. The stories just get darker and darker as the series progresses. There’s enough material for at least one more season of the show if not more.
Revealing that would give away who survives any potential murder attempts and other dangerous situations in season 2. With Myers leading the charge, the show also stars Zain Iqbal, Asha Banks, Yali Topol Margalith, Jude Morgan-Collie, Henry Ashton, Freddie England, Zain Iqbal, and Anna Maxwell-Martin. We can only hope that they all make it to the potential season 3.
Since there were two years between season 1 in August 2024 and season 2 in May 2026, we might expect to see A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder season 3 in 2028 if it gets renewed. Month-wise is a little more difficult to predict. Those are both summer months, technically. Maybe they’ll split the difference and go with June next time.
Listen… I don’t like it either! There has to be a way for shows to start consistently producing new seasons on a yearly basis, especially when the seasons are so short! Six episodes every two years is delayed gratification in the worst way. My constant pleas for a Hollywood think tank to form and figure this out are, unfortunately, falling on dead ears. Maybe this is a case for Pip? It should be easy work, compared to all these murders!
