Next Gen NYC is returning for another season, following the lives of some Bravolebrity kids, all grown up. One of the kids in question is the daughter of The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Kim Zolciak, Ariana Biermann. One of her main storylines on the new Bravo series entails her big move to the city with her longtime boyfriend, Hudson McLeroy, whom she’s been on-again, off-again with since they were teens.
The pair has been breaking up and making up from high school into adulthood, and while they seemingly split for good in October 2025 (with Ariana’s newfound singleness apparently playing a big role in the upcoming season of Next Gen NYC…), it seems like they maaaaay have reconciled after filming wrapped. With season 2 hitting Bravo on June 24, now seems like a good time to brush up on all 10-ish years of their relationship.
Ariana’s sister, Brielle Biermann, introduced her to Hudson after spotting him on a beach in Florida. According to Ariana, she and Hudson were 14 at the time when they hit it off and exchanged Snapchats.
“My sister saw him on the beach when we were 14, and we were in Florida, and she saw him on the beach and was like, ‘Oh my God, I need to get your Snapchat and see a picture of you. You’d be the love of my sister’s life,’” she explained on the Comments by Celebs podcast in July 2025.
She continued, “We talked on Snapchat, and I actually ended up getting grounded for a whole year after sneaking out of my house. And my parents didn’t let me have a life…but my sister took me for my birthday present on my first date with him after we’d been talking for six weeks over Snapchat, and she took us on a date.”
So…what I’m hearing is my sisters need to be my personal matchmakers. Get to work, girls!!
Ariana went on to date Hudson throughout high school and even went public with him on social media. According to her profile, she even attended homecoming with Hudson in October 2018.
During her interview with the Comments by Celebs pod, Ariana confirmed that she and Hudson had been on-again, off-again for a few years from 2019 to 2021, largely because of how strict her parents were.
“My parents didn’t really let me leave the house a lot growing up at all,” she explained. “And I couldn’t go over and see him. And when he would come over, he would hang out in my driveway. Like, it wasn’t working. That wasn’t going to be able to happen.”
In the end, she said their time spent apart strengthened their bond when they officially reconciled in 2022.
“I feel like we both also just needed to experience dating other people and experience life on our own,” Ariana shared. “Because I don’t think we’d be able to be together now for three years if we had been together consecutively for the last nine. Like, that would be crazy.”
Ariana and Hudson started dating seriously in their adulthood and claimed to be soulmates in touching tributes for each other on Instagram.
Hudson even listed 21 reasons he loved Ariana in a post celebrating her 21st birthday, including, “You make me happier than I’ve ever been.”
However, their relationship would reach an unexpected milestone when they were reportedly arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol as minors in Atlanta.
The couple was still going strong, as proven by their PDA on social media.
“There are no words to explain how thankful i am for you,” Ariana wrote about Hudson in a since-deleted Instagram post from October 2023, per People. “I have never enjoyed every second w someone like i do w you. you truly are my absolute best friend. the love we have is so pure.”
Ariana and Hudson officially left Atlanta to live in NYC, moving into their first apartment together. This acted as one of the main plotlines for the first season of Next Gen NYC.

Next Gen NYC premiered on Bravo, and of course, Ariana and Hudson stepped out for a date night on the red carpet.

Hudson shared a sweet post lifting Ariana up on Instagram, writing, “I’m so beyond proud watching you become the person I always knew you were. You deserve every bit of it, baby.”
The feeling was 100 percent mutual as she responded, “So blessed to always have you by my side. I love you so much.”
During an interview with Bravo’s Daily Dish, Ariana admitted that she has a “five year” rule with Hudson when it comes to taking the next step in their years-long relationship.
“If he doesn’t propose in five years, which is in a little less than two years, it’s a no,” she explained, adding, “He talks about it all the time. So I’m like, ‘Stop talking about it and do it or don’t do it.’”
On October 14, 2025, Ariana announced that she and Hudson had split (perhaps for good!) with a post on her Instagram Stories.
“Hudson and i have decided to go our separate ways. while these things are never easy, we both know it’s what’s best for us right now. We are so grateful for all the love and support you’ve shown us over the years,” she wrote at the time.
“Sometimes life takes you in different directions and that’s okay <3 love you all,” she concluded.

Hudson seemingly broke his silence, confirming his split with Ariana in a post for the new year. At the time, he wrote, “2025, I never thought you’d teach me what you did but here we are. I continue to never thank god enough for each and every blessing in my life but I truly will never be able to thank him enough. I can’t wait to see what 2026 has in store for my life and those around me.”
Ariana and Hudson raised eyebrows when they were spotted getting cozy across several sneaky social media posts. Ariana posted a pic on her Instagram Stories with a guy holding her waist from behind on April 17.

Her followers were fully convinced the guy could be Hudson, especially because she seemingly showed up in his April 20 photo dump captioned, “Back and better than ever.”

The Next Gen NYC season 2 trailer dropped, hinting that Ariana and Hudson’s split could be a main plotline…but then again, season 2 was filmed back in fall 2025, so anything could have happened since then.
Could they be soft launching their reconciliation? Guess we’ll have to stay tuned to find out!!
