If you finally watched the last episode of Outlast: The Jungle, then you know that (spoiler alert!) Nikki and Maddy were named the joint winners of the survival show and took home $500K each. But what ever happened to Leiya, who made it to the final mission with them before they voted her off?
In case you need reminding, Outlast: The Jungle challenges 16 players to survive the elements, outmaneuver rivals, and remain part of a team for a chance to win the big bucks. Contestants are split into three teams and must be part of a team in order to win the show—all while facing votes and backstabbing along the way.
The final episode saw a head-to-head challenge between Alpha and Bravo, aka Maddy, Nikki and Leiya versus Pharaoh and Abby, where they had to trek to a waterfall before making their way to a beach to find the final flare.
Despite kicking things off as a team of three, Alpha eventually made the decision to vote Leiya off halfway through the final trek—something which has gained Nikki and Maddy both criticism and praise for their gameplay. But where is Leiya now?
Since the show, Leiya has continued her work as a licensed tattoo artist and aesthetician in Tennessee.
Leiya has also taken to Instagram to share an insight into what she's been up to in the last year, including taking oil painting classes, spending time with her family and at church and adopting a puppy named Ludo.
Leiya has taken to Instagram to admit she was surprised about the way Nikki and Maddy were talking about her in the confessional, particularly when it came to their confessionals about her trying to make a fire in the second-to-last challenge.
Replying to a fan comment which read, "I was so upset that the ladies were blaming you for not starting that fire quickly when they couldn’t have done it themselves. You deserved that win :(" she wrote: "That is all true. Learning that side from watching the confessional was a shock. We were running most of that trek! Why they only showed me navigating the slippery rocks when all of us were slipping and falling doing the same, idk."
She also responded to a post from Team Alpha's Ben insisting neither Nikki nor Maddy had the skills, writing, "Both teammates had told they didn’t know how to make fire. I simply stepped up to contribute in a team, never said I was an expert. Not sure why they went against that in the confessional. If I wasn’t there, they would’ve lost, but speaking so badly about me instead of being appreciative was just so mean & unnecessary.”
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, both Nikki and Maddy admitted they hadn't spoken to Leiya since the final, but insisted they had nothing but goodwill toward her.
"To make it as far as we all did, especially with the social conditions that Leiya made it in, I have so much respect for her," Nikki said. "I think that she is such a cool, incredibly competent person. I just think it hit a wall that she wasn't able to climb over with us, and I wasn't gonna get stuck on the other side of the wall."

Yikes.
