Reese Witherspoon has a new man in her life. Okay, so their connection isn’t new-new, but it is to fans who just discovered this man even existed since they just made their first semi-public appearance together at the Elle premiere in New York City on Tuesday, June 23.

Who is worthy of the Legally Blonde actor’s love, you ask? That’d be German private equity financier and founding partner of Searchlight Capital Partners, Oliver Haarmann. He’s probably checked a few boxes for Miss Reese, thanks to his impressive accolades. Ahem: He’s a Brown alum with an MBA from Harvard Business School and a minority owner of the NHL’s New York Islanders. Oh, and he’s apparently worth more than $1 billion. What, like it’s hard?

Aaaanyway, you’re probably wondering how Oliver and Reese even met after her split from her ex-husband, Jim Toth. Wonder no more, thanks to these highlights from their relationship timeline, right here!

Reese and Oliver first sparked dating rumors in July 2024, when they were spotted dining at L’Artusi in NYC’s West Village. According to People, they flew into the city via helicopter the day before. Okay, bougie!

At the time, a source told the outlet that they were only friends, while another added that Reese was “taking things slow when it comes to dating.”

“She enjoys it but doesn’t want it to be a big focus. She’s busy with work and her son,” they said. “These are her biggest priorities.”

Reese and Oliver still hadn’t publicly addressed romance rumors at this point, but sources confirmed to People that they are, in fact, an item.

The couple has still kept their relationship largely out of the spotlight, but a source told People, “Reese is doing great and enjoys dating. She’s having fun with Oliver. She often flies between Nashville and NYC to see him. He’s spending time with her kids too.”

Page Six reported that the pair was looking to move into a high-end NYC apartment together.

“They are looking in the area because [one of her kids] is attending NYU and Reese wants to be close,” an insider told the outlet, adding, “They’ve toured the apartment twice already and were very sweet and affectionate at both tours.”

According to photos published by TMZ, Reese and Oliver packed on some PDA during a yacht vacation on the coast of St. Tropez.

Reese and Oliver were spotted holding hands on a low-key date night in London, where they were photographed after catching Good Night, Oscar at the Barbican Centre.

Later that month, an insider told People that Reese’s “relationship with Oliver is very special to her” because “He’s not interested in the Hollywood spotlight. He’s there for her” and “very supportive.”

The couple made their first (semi) public appearance together at the world premiere of Reese’s Legally Blonde prequel series, Elle, in NYC on June 23. They pulled up to the event in coordinating pink outfits, no less!
