Ayo Edebiri is currently starring in Proof on Broadway, so it was honestly more than convenient for her to hop over to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for a night of glamour at the 2026 Met Gala! Reminder that this year’s theme is “Costume Art” and Ayo interpreted the “Fashion Is Art” dress code with a stunning structural white gown from Chanel.

Ayo stars in Proof alongside Don Cheadle, and told Goldderby, “When we were able to read together for the first time, it just felt so right. Pretty instantly, I knew that I was safe with this person and this performer and the both of us could really get to play, get messy and explore.”

She also told Ebony, “I’m excited by the challenge… by any opportunity for learning.”
