As much as the Cannes Film Festival is about cinema, let’s be real, it’s also about fashion. Its red carpet has become one of the most closely watched style stages in the world, and Bella Hadid—one of our beloved style icons—has become the unofficial fashion queen of the event, serving standout looks for several consecutive years now. While she’s usually seen in archival pieces or outfits only a celebrity budget could secure, she recently stepped out in the south of France wearing a surprisingly affordable accessory…from Amazon.
With a custom Prada embellished scarf gown, she wore a $50 pair of oversized oval-shaped sunglasses from the retail giant we normal people use for groceries, affordable clothing, toilet paper, and just about everything in between. I think we can all agree that this is something I don’t think anybody would have ever thought would happen. And I’m obsessed that it did! She’s just like us!!

The sunglasses lean into that retro-inspired trend that’s been everywhere lately—think thick, oversized frames and that cool oval shape that gives old-Hollywood-star energy and keeps popping up all over Instagram and TikTok. They’ve got that designer-dupe feel in the best way. What makes this pair stand out, though, is the contrast: sleek black frames paired with tortoiseshell temples that break things up so they don’t feel flat or basic. If you like a pair that feels a little extra without being full-on costume-y, these are the ones.
And honestly, if Bella Hadid is wearing something affordable, especially from Amazon, I’m instantly putting it in my cart. These will be coming with me on every trip this summer!
