Reviews of liquid blush products for makeup enthusiasts

Beth Gillette, Julee Wilson, and Corinne Bickel for Cosmopolitan

Luminous Silk Cheek Tint

Pros

  • Formula is very long-wearing
  • Comes in both cream and shimmery versions

Cons

  • Not sheer, so it can take some time to blend out

Why we love it: If you’re a lover of the famed Armani Luminous Silk Foundation (Team Cosmo definitely is), then you’ll also probably like this liquid blush made with a similar-ish formula and finish—it’s soft and natural, but gives your skin a plump look, no matter which of the 14 shades you choose. It even comes in two finishes: A creamy one and a shimmer that’s a bit glowier.

Shades8 cream shades, 5 shimmer shades
Key ingredientsDimethicone
FinishNatural
Size0.4 oz

One Cosmo editor’s review: “I just went through my makeup drawers and had about 130 different blushes. And the one formula that I refused to get rid of any shades was this from Armani. It’s pigmented, but also blendable, even on my medium skin tone. And it always makes my cheeks look lifted. I love mixing a few shades too for my perfect color—a tip I learned from Carolina Gonzalez, the woman behind Sabrina Carpenter’s dewy, doll-like cheeks.”—BETH GILLETTE, BEAUTY EDITOR

Futurist Blushmaker Dewy Cheek Tint Liquid Blush

Pros

  • Only takes a few taps to blend out on your cheeks
  • One of the most natural-looking blushes we've tested

Cons

  • Might not be pigmented enough for deep skin

Why we love it: Winner of “best liquid blush” in Cosmo’s 2026 Holy Grail Beauty Awards, this lightweight formula is aptly named a “cheek tint” versus a true blush. It’s sheer and subdued, offering a more watercolor-like finish than deep, opaque color.

Shades6
Key ingredientsDimethicone, raspberry leaf extract
FinishDewy
Size0.34 oz

One Cosmo editor’s review: “This liquid blush leaves my face with the perfect rosy flush. It’s sheer and lightweight, so it leaves behind a natural your-cheeks-but-better glow, and it’s also buildable so you can go for a more opaque, full-glam finish. I just tap it on with my fingers and the dewy pigment blends out so seamlessly.” —JASMINE HYMAN, ASSISTANT BEAUTY EDITOR

Cloud Paint Gel Cream Blush

Pros

  • Comes in a wide variety of shades that are especially great for medium to deep skin tones

Cons

  • Quite pigmented from the jump, which can be a bit hard to blend on very-fair skin

Why we love it: Largely considered one of the O.G. blush formulas of the 2010s and ‘20s, Cloud Paint’s squeezable tube is filled with a mega-pigmented liquid gel that glides over your cheeks. This pigment has made it a favorite amongst a variety of skin tones. And it’s surprisingly quick to diffuse into skin, either with your fingers or a brush.

Shades9
Key ingredientsGlycerin, collagen, dimethicone
FinishNatural
Size0.33 oz

One Cosmo editor’s review: “As someone who often suffers from blush blindness, the Glossier Cloud Paints are perfect because even if you seemingly add ‘too much,’ they blend out so easily and literally melt into your skin. It doesn’t even look like I applied a glob of it on my face (when I definitely did). I love to apply the product directly to my face and blend it out with a stipple brush. For my skin tone, my go-to shades are Spark and Dawn!”—CORINNE BICKEL, SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGIST

Shake N' Play Liquid Blush

Pros

  • Melts into your skin quickly and meshes well with other products
  • A little goes a long way for pigmention
  • Super plush applicator feels good on skin and helps place color where you want it

Cons

  • I wish it came in even more shades (but the ones it *does* come in are great for medium to deep skin)

Why we love it: Shake the tube, then dot your cheeks with this soft sponge applicator—and you’ve got flushed cheeks in a few seconds that last all day long. It dries down quickly and with a natural, blurred finish, pairing well with all of your liquids and powders in your makeup routine.

Shades5
Key ingredientsDimethicone, cucumber fruit extract
FinishNatural
Size0.3 oz

One Cosmo editor’s review: “I’m super obsessed with how playful this blush feels from start to finish. The shaker-meets-sponge applicator makes every use feel like a little beauty ritual, and the five juicy hues (I’m rocking Wild’berry Whip) deliver the prettiest wash of color that’s impossible to mess up. The formula is light, creamy, and ridiculously buildable, so I can go from a soft flush to full-on statement cheeks in seconds. Honestly, shaking it up might be half the fun!”—JULEE WILSON, BEAUTY EDITOR-AT-LARGE

Unreal Liquid Blush

Pros

  • Goes on very sheer, making it fairly foolproof for application
  • Has a dewy, fresh finish

Cons

  • You have to shake and press the bottom to dispense the product, which can be a little difficult

Why we love it: Liquid blushes tend to be quite pigmented, which is great for building up bold color but might require some elbow grease to turn into something natural. Hourglass’s formula is foolproof. The lightweight consistency seamlessly blends into skin without harsh edges.

Shades7
Key ingredientsHyaluronic acid, white lupin seed extract
FinishNatural-leaning dewy
Size0.34 oz

One Cosmo editor’s review: “I always travel with this blush because it’s 1) tiny, and 2) blends out in seconds. It adds so much life to my cheeks—a necessity when I’m running on low sleep and caffeine abroad—but without any fuss. I usually dab some on the back of my hand, then tap onto my cheeks with a finger for a quick application. And if I want more for dinner later, I can build the color up with a few extra swipes.”—BG
