The Other Bennet Sister is genuinely the most wholesome show on television right now (fight me) and the best is yet to come. The first three episodes of the romantic BritBox show—about Mary Bennet from Pride & Prejudice—are already out, and we’re bringing you a sweet look at Wednesday’s all-new episode, where Mary and Mr. Hayward have a sweet moment in a gorgeous garden.
In the clip, Mary opens up about how she wants to say something inspiring but doesn’t know how, and tells Mr. Hayward that her feelings feel “frozen or feeble or entirely unknowable.” He then admits to using the words of others to “puzzle through things I do not understand,” before reassuring her that she’s not a stranger to strong emotions and—PREPARE TO SWOON—taking a flower petal out of her hair.
The yearning is simply on another level. And Mary being so flustered that she responds to his gesture with “Mr. Hayward, I think I must leave London” couldn’t be more relatable to those of us who flee the room the second our crush looks our way.
Never been more seated. The Other Bennet Sister airs Wednesdays on BritBox, which is well worth the subscription if you’re as obsessed with cozy British TV shows as I am.
