Rivals is back for another risqué and very ’80s season, and the cast is hotter and more stacked than ever (Hayley Atwell and Rupert Everett joined!). And while you could devote a whole whiteboard to the complicated relationships on this show, the cast’s real-life love lives? Less dramatic, but just as compelling. On that note, here’s who everyone in Rivals is dating, hooking up with, and/or married to.

Alex Hassell (aka Rupert Campbell-Black)

Relationship status: Married

Alex married actor Emma King in 2011 after meeting at drama school and then reconnecting at one of Alex’s productions. We have a deep dive on her over this way, if you want alllll the romantic details.

Nafessa Williams (aka Cameron Cook)

Relationship status: TBD

Nafessa keeps her relationship status private, so sorry to everyone feeling nosy!

David Tennant (aka Lord Baddingham)

Relationship status: Married

David is married to actor Georgia Tennant (fun fact: her dad is also a famous Doctor Who actor named Peter Davison), who he met while filming the show back in 2008. They have five (5!) children together.

Bella Maclean (aka Taggie O’Hara)

Relationship status: TBD

Not much is known about Bella’s love life, but there are unsubstantiated rumors that she used to date Fabien Frankel from House of the Dragon (emphasis on RUMORS).

Danny Dyer (aka Freddie Jones)

Relationship status: Married

Danny is married to Joanne Mas, and their love story is pretty epic. These two first got together in 1992, had a daughter named Dani (who went on to win Love Island, casual), and then separated in 1996. They then started dating again, had two more children, and eventually got married in 2016!

Aidan Turner (Declan O’Hara)

Relationship status: Married

Aidan is married to fellow actor Caitlin FitzGerald, and they have two children. These two met on set of a project and live in Nova Scotia with their family.

Katherine Parkinson (aka Lizzie Vereker)

Relationship status: Married

Katherine married fellow actor Harry Peacock (amazing name) after meeting at an acting workshop. Nowadays they have two children.

Victoria Smurfit (aka Maud O’Hara)

Relationship status: Married

Victoria is married to banker Steve Jacobs, who showed up to the Rivals premiere with her.

Emily Atack (Sarah Stratton)

Relationship status: Engaged

Emily got engaged to her partner Dr. Alistair Garner in 2025. The couple have a cute son named Barney James Garner, and apparently their upcoming wedding will be a star-studded affair, with multiple members of the Rivals cast in attendance!

Oliver Chris (aka James Vereker)

Relationship status: In one!

Oliver is in a long-term relationship with Kate Phillips (they have a child together), who you might know from Miss Scarlet and The Duke, my personal favorite cozy British crime show (she’s also been in The Crown and Downton Abbey).

Catriona Chandler (aka Caitlin O’Hara)

Relationship status: TBD

Not much is known about Catriona’s love life, but in an interview with Who What Wear a couple years ago, she said “If I was on any form of date, it certainly wouldn’t be a secret because I would’ve probably wrangled all my friends beforehand to help me plan an outfit and have them on standby outside waiting for a debrief!”

Rufus Jones (aka Paul Stratton)

Relationship status: Married!

Rufus is married to Philippa Allam and they have two cute kids!

Lisa McGrillis (aka Valerie Jones)

Relationship status: Married

Lisa is married to fellow actor Stuart Martin (also from my personal favorite show Miss Scarlet and The Duke, wow all roads lead back, etc), and they have two children.

Luke Pasqualino (aka Bas Baddingham)

Relationship status: Engaged

Luke is engaged to a lawyer named Leah Aschettino, and they recently welcomed a baby.

Claire Rushbrook (aka Lady Baddingham)

Relationship status: Married

Claire’s married with two kids, but her husband stays largely out of the public eye. Per The Telegraph, they’ve been together 23 years and “he works behind the camera and they met on the BBC series Linda Green.”

Annabel Scholey (aka Beattie Johnson)

Relationship status: Married

Annabel married her husband, Jim, in 2023, and told HELLO! “I got married at the very end of 2023 and went on my honeymoon this year. I also turned 40 and my husband turned 40."

Hayley Atwell (aka Helen Gordon)

Relationship status: Married

Hayley got engaged to producer Ned Wolfgang Kelly back in 2023, and they’ve gone on to get married and welcome their first child!

Rupert Everett (aka Malise Gordon)

Relationship status: Married
