Love Island: Beyond the Villa is officially back for season 2, and this time, the spin-off is following some of the islanders who found love and friendship in Fiji last summer. While the islanders shared the unique experience at the villa, touching back down in the States wasn’t as chill as some had hoped it would be since three of the show’s four final couples faced public breakups and brutal backlash from the drama. After cheating allegations and rumored rifts between some of the former flames made headlines, reuniting beyond the villa wasn’t necessarily easy.
Thankfully, Belle-A Walker and Jeremiah Brown provided comfort and made things feel a little less awkward between different cast members.
“I love having genuine friendships with a lot of people and being in every type of friend group,” Jeremiah—who grew close to Iris Kendall, Amaya “Papaya” Espinal, and Hannah Fields—exclusively told Cosmopolitan.
Despite being one of the first islanders booted from the villa last summer, it was important for Belle-A to maintain connections and ease any tensions ahead of filming. In the season premiere of Beyond the Villa, she defended Pepe Garcia, as well as Amaya’s ex, Bryan Arenales, claiming they weren’t given a fair chance in the wake of their respective splits.
“Honestly, it’s really tough, because I just have so much love for every single person on this cast. The first time seeing everybody together, we all felt the tension, and that doesn’t sit well in my soul. I didn’t want it to be like that moving forward,” Belle-A exclusively told Cosmopolitan.
“I really had no business being between anybody at all—and I take accountability for that—but I really wanted to bridge a gap in hopes that everybody could at least be in the same room and there’d be no bad blood,” she continued.

Jeremiah had a similar sentiment when it came to keeping the peace.
“At first, I was very naive, thinking I could be the liaison between groups. Then I realized, realistically, if there are 12 people, not all 12 people are gonna be friends,” he added, sharing that he set boundaries when it came to speaking with specific people in the group.
“So, I just decided I’m gonna be there for everybody and make sure I’m being very mature and authentic, like, ‘Okay, we're not gonna talk about if I’m friends with that person.’ I try to be supportive while also being true to myself, honest, and loyal,” he explained.

Though Belle-A had good intentions in helping resolve other people’s drama, she admitted, “I didn't learn my lesson till the end of filming, but everything happens for a reason, right?”
