The 2026 Met Gala is incoming and the guest list is still tightly under wraps. But, naturally, inquiring minds want to know if Taylor Swift will be at the event for the first time in 10 years. We don’t have a firm answer, but we did some investigating and things are looking hopeful for an appearance from her (and maybe Travis Kelce). The facts:

Taylor’s currently in New York City.

She was spotted having dinner out with some friends on April 27.

Beyoncé is co-chairing

Taylor and Beyoncé are close and have a recent history of supporting each other—specifically at their respective concert film debuts. Rumor has it that Bey being at the Met has inspired several other celebs (specifically ones who don’t usually make an appearance) to attend, and Tay could be on that list.

Her other friends are on the Host Committee

Taylor’s close friends, Lena Dunham and Sabrina Carpenter, are on the Host Committee this year, which seems like another point in favor of her attendance.

Taylor loves an auspicious number

And it’s been exactly 10 years since her last Met Gala.

We won’t find out if Taylor’s heading to the Met Gala (hopefully with Travis!) until Monday night, but it seems like there’s a good chance—or at least a better chance than usual based on all of the above.

Meanwhile, reminder that the theme this year is Costume Art, while the dress code is Fashion Is Art, which “invites guests to express their own relationship to fashion as an embodied art form” and “perfectly reflects the ethos of ‘Costume Art,’ which explores the ‘centrality of the dressed body’ through depictions and interpretations of the human form in the Met’s extensive collection.”
