If you thought Anne Hathaway peaked in the early aughts during her Princess Diaries and OG Devil Wears Prada era, you are clearly not keeping up with the pop culture syllabus. Our girl is booked and busy with, ahem, three blockbusters this year alone and a baby on the way (she just announced her pregnancy with husband Adam Shulman).
And while her red carpet looks never miss (period), Anne’s entire press tour wardrobe from the Devil Wears Prada sequel would absolutely earn Miranda Priestly's stamp of approval—especially the JW PEI bag she stepped out with in early May. Yes, I’m talking about the Lucia Classic Top Handbag, which comes in the perfect mini-but-not-too-mini size with a buttery-soft slouchy silhouette.
It honestly looks like the type of designer bag that would set you back well over $2,000, but somehow (some way!!!) JW PEI was able to bottle the impeccable craftsmanship and quiet-luxury appeal into an actually affordable style. Usually retailing for $99, Anne’s exact bag is just $79 (!!!) right now—at least until Prime Day ends tomorrow.
Now, of course, it’s not a question of if you should buy the bag, but how many and in which colors? There are so many colorways. Anne’s classic black is an obvious contender, and the gorgeous chocolate brown immediately caught our eye. There’s more than just glossy leather in the lineup—the faux croc, woven, and canvas textures have our attention, too!
As for its functionality, there’s a lot to unpack. She’s small but mighty with enough space for any phone (up to an iPhone 15 Pro Max), a wallet, keys, lip gloss—the essentials! The interior zipper pocket and slit pocket provide a secure place for your valuables, and the detachable long strap can easily convert the style into a crossbody.
“The bag is of excellent quality—very soft and spacious, despite its small size,” one shopper gushed, while another added that they’ve bought five more colors of the Lucia.
“My favorite bag,” a third customer raved. “The quality, size, and shape are perfect.”
Ya know, customer #3, Anne Hathaway, and I couldn’t agree more with that statement.
