Ariana Grande has a huge year coming up, what with a tour and the release of her new album, and the dawn of her new era is exactly why we may have missed her on the steps at the 2026 Met Gala.

Yep—we missed Ari at the Met because she’s likely in the thick of rehearsals for her upcoming Eternal SunshineTour, which kicks off in Oakland, California, on June 6. Sad news: We didn’t get to see her in a new look, but good news: we get to see her onstage again very soon!

Ari is fresh off announcing her eighth studio album, Petal, which will drop on July 31. She’s also going on tour this year and will presumably perform some new music off the album. “The last 10 or 15 years will look very different to the ones that are coming up,” Ari said on the Good Hang podcast back in November. “I don’t want to say anything definitive. I do know that I’m very excited to do this small tour, but I think it might not happen again for a long, long, long, long, long time. I’m going to give it my all and it’s going to be beautiful. I think that’s why I’m doing it because I’m like, ‘One last hurrah!’”

She also told Nicole Kidman in Interview, “I’ve just been healing my relationship to music and touring over the past couple of years. I think the time away from it helped me reclaim certain pieces of it and put certain feelings that maybe belonged to my relationship to fame…in a box somewhere else.”
