The queer girlies of KATSEYE, Lara Raj and Megan Skiendiel, are absolutely thriving during Pride month and beyond—and they let it be known during their June cover story with Allure. During the conversation, Lara opened up about her queer identity and reacted to people who invalidate her and her bandmates’ sexual orientations because of their public dating history—specifically, with men.
“I like everyone, I will date anyone,” Lara confirmed, adding, “I think people really try to invalidate that because of who we currently or have publicly dated. But I’ve dated so many girls, and it’s such a beautiful experience to be with women, and it’s something that is a very core and important part of me that will always be with me for the rest of my life.”
Megan also spoke to her own experience as an openly bisexual woman.
“I came out as bisexual, but me dating men doesn't take that away from me,” she shared, before dropping a bombshell that even day-one Eyekons might not have known. “My first relationship was with a girl, but [the fans] don’t know that.”
She continued, “I feel like people should just be able to be who they are, no matter what. When it comes to race, identity, whatever, if that’s who you are, then be who the fuck you are and no one should take that away from you.”
Before their Allure cover story, Lara got candid about her sexuality during a livestream on Weverse back in March 2025, writing, “I knew I was half a fruitcake when I was like eight. So I really was wanting everybody.” At the time, she clarified that she doesn’t label herself “bc im not just into men n women, i like anyone im open to anyone.”
Megan publicly came out as bisexual during a separate livestream last June after she wished Lara a happy Pride month. She then decided to speak her truth with fans, saying, “Guys, I’m coming out. I’m bisexual,” before jumping with Lara in celebration.
Since then, the global girl group has openly supported the LGBTQIA+ community, with a shoutout to the transgender women on their song “Mean Girls” and cameos from modern trans icons like Vivian Wilson, Saturn Risin9, Mel 4Ever, VHEX, and Katalina in their “Pinky Up” music video.
We simply love to see it!
