The core of the Googlebook experience is a new operating system built on the Android technology stack. While internal leaks referred to this software as “Aluminium OS,” Google representatives have clarified that this is merely a codename and the official branding will be revealed later this year.

Google is collaborating with major manufacturers—including Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo—to produce the initial Googlebook models.
