Samsung Honors 20 Years at No. 1 With a 20% Flash Sale on...
Eliane Fiole · 2026-04-21 · via Ubergizmo

Samsung says it has been the #1 global TV brand for 20 consecutive years, and to mark that milestone, it is running 24-hour flash sales on the 20th of each month, with 20% off select TV products. The next event is scheduled for April 20, starting at 12:00 a.m. ET and running through 11:59 p.m. ET.

Samsung OLED 4K S95F, vivid colors and high brightness

This flash sale focuses on 2025 large-format high-end and premium 4K and 8K TVs, including 83-inch, 77-inch Class OLED S95F, 85-inch to 65-inch Class Neo QLED 8K QN990F, 85-inch, 65-inch Class Neo QLED 8K QN900F, and 100-inch Class Neo QLED 4K QN80F. Savings range from $920 to over $2000. More info and savings details at the end of this article.

My Hands-on Experience With Samsung’s 2025 TV Lineup

In March 2025, I had a hands-on session with Samsung’s OLED 4K S95F, Neo QLED 8K QN990F, 4K QN90F, and 100-inch 4K QN80F, and all of them delivered impressive image quality. The 2025 OLED flagship S95F stood out for its deep blacks, very high brightness, and vivid contrast, making it especially compelling for dark environments or for movie lovers who prefer watching content in a dimmed room.

Gaming

I also tried the S95F for gaming via the Samsung Gaming Hub, and it felt great to use. It looks well-suited for gaming enthusiasts, even if it is not necessarily the kind of display aimed first at ultra-competitive esports players. The refresh-rate positioning across these models is also part of the appeal: the S95F supports Motion Xcelerator 165Hz, the QN990F goes up to Motion Xcelerator 240Hz, the QN90F reaches 165Hz, and the QN80F supports 144Hz.

The Samsung Gaming Hub is a cloud gaming interface that provides access to a broad range of game streaming services, including Xbox Game Pass, NVIDIA GeForce Now, and Amazon Luna

Glare-free Second-gen for Great Art Rendering

The 8K Neo QLED QN990F is excellent for displaying paintings in the living room

At launch, the 4K OLED S95F, Neo QLED 8K QN990F, QN900F, and 4K QN90F all featured Samsung’s second-generation Glare Free technology, designed to reduce reflections while preserving image detail.

While The Frame remains Samsung’s most natural fit for displaying art and still comes closest to looking like a real painting on the wall, the 8K QN990F also delivered surprisingly strong art rendering thanks to its huge high-resolution panel and Glare Free finish. The Art Store features 30 curated free artworks per month, but costs $4.99 per month for full access.

While the Neo QLED 8K QN990F is very good at displaying paintings, it also delivers vivid, bright colors for up to 8K video and entertainment content. See below a photo of an 8K video playing on the QN990F, with bright, vivid color details.

Samsung Vision AI

That 2025 generation was also the first Samsung TV lineup to feature Samsung Vision AI, unveiled at CES 2025.

Samsung is expanding its AI messaging across the TV business. In 2025, Samsung Vision AI introduced features such as Click to Search, Live Translate, Samsung Food, Generative Wallpaper, Home Insights, Pet and Family Care, SmartThings integration, Universal Gestures through Galaxy Watch, and Galaxy Buds pairing for private listening.

The Universal Gesture feature on Samsung Galaxy Watch models from the Watch4 onward lets users control compatible 2025 and 2026 Samsung TVs over Bluetooth without needing the remote. With simple hand motions such as a pinch to select and a clench to go back, users can navigate menus, choose content, and adjust volume hands-free.

New NQ4 Gen3 Processor for S95F and 4K QN90F Models

Samsung also improved processing on select models with the move from NQ4 Gen2 to NQ4 Gen3, while some 4K models, such as the QN80F, gained Quantum Matrix Mini-LED backlighting that had previously been associated with higher-end tiers.

Neo QLED Flagships 2025: Neo QLED 8K QN990F and 4K QN90F

At the top of that 2025 range, the Neo QLED 8K QN990F remained Samsung’s most ambitious mainstream TV. The set combines Glare Free 2.0, Samsung Vision AI, a Wireless One Connect Box, Art Store support, the NQ8 AI Gen3 processor, and Motion Xcelerator 240Hz, which helps position it as Samsung’s most aggressive gaming-capable TV in that premium 8K tier. It is also a design-first product, with an ultra-slim look and a finish that worked especially well when displaying art.

The 4K lineup also looked strong. The QN90F stood out as a flagship 4K option with an NQ4 AI Gen3 processor, Motion Xcelerator 165Hz, Glare Free 2.0, and full Samsung Vision AI support, while the QN80F offered a more affordable path into Samsung’s premium-looking Mini LED experience with an NQ4 AI Gen2 processor, Motion Xcelerator 144Hz, Quantum Matrix Mini LED, support for sizes up to 100 inches, and access to the Art Store.

Samsung Vision AI: What’s new in 2026?

Samsung is also updating the Vision AI story again with the launch of its new 2026 TV lineup, including new Neo QLED models, new 4K OLED models, and the new Micro RGB series. The latest Vision AI additions include:

  • Vision AI Companion (VAC): a new AI agent triggered by a dedicated remote button that can analyze on-screen content such as movies, sports, or cooking shows and surface contextual information in real time. I tried this excellent feature last March. Read more in my hands-on review here
  • AI Picture Optimization / Upscaling Pro: scene-based sharpening, depth enhancement, and color optimization
  • AI Sound Controller Pro: real-time audio adjustment for dialogue, music, and effects, along with AI Football Mode
  • Conversational AI integration: support for enhanced Bixby, Microsoft Copilot, or Perplexity directly on-screen. Perplexity and Copilot integration are easy and fun to use. Read more in my hands-on review.
  • Auto Translate: real-time subtitles on Samsung TV Plus in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, French, and Korean
  • Smart Home Context: contextual suggestions tied to the home, such as surfacing security camera feeds or showing related phone content on the TV
