Google has announced a new update that enhances the integration between Google Wallet and Google Chrome’s autofill feature. This development is designed to optimize how users complete online registration forms by streamlining the data entry process.

According to Android Authority, a key improvement in this update is the browser’s expanded support for complex data types. In addition to traditional information like names, addresses, and payment details, Chrome can now securely store and automatically fill specialized data. This includes details such as flight numbers, vehicle license plates, and Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN). By recognizing these specific data points, the system reduces the need for manual typing across various websites and services.

Privacy and security remain central to this integration. According to Google, all personal information handled by the system will continue to be protected using encryption protocols. Data is only saved or utilized after receiving explicit authorization from the user. Furthermore, if a user fills out an online form with a document or detail that is not yet stored in their Google Wallet, Chrome will proactively prompt them with an option to save the information directly to the digital wallet for future use.

Users retain full control over their data management under the new system. Information can be reviewed and edited directly within the Google Wallet application settings. Additionally, Chrome has introduced a dedicated “Autofill and Passwords” section in its settings menu to help users navigate and manage their stored credentials and data preferences more efficiently.

The rollout of this feature has already commenced, starting alongside the release of Google Chrome version 150 for Android devices. The update is being distributed in phases and is expected to become available to users on other operating systems and platforms gradually. This rollout represents a continuing effort to unify Google’s ecosystem and improve the overall efficiency of web browsing and data management.
