Geely Eva Cab Robotaxi, An AI-Powered Autonomous EV With ...

At the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, Geely unveiled the Eva Cab, a purpose-built robotaxi designed to operate entirely without human intervention. This launch positions Geely as a direct competitor to Tesla’s Cybercab, signaling a shift toward fully autonomous mobility.

The vehicle is powered by a high-performance computing system featuring an artificial intelligence model with 196 billion parameters and a processing capacity of 1,400 TOPS.

Central to its operation is the “World Action Model,” which utilizes a continuous process of “micro-deductions.” Unlike traditional systems that rely solely on perception and response, this technology allows the Eva Cab to navigate up to 99% of traffic scenarios, including complex environments such as unmarked roads.

Safety and precision are major focuses of the project. Geely claims the system can execute difficult maneuvers with a 95% success rate. Most notably, the Eva Cab boasts a reaction time of just 4 milliseconds—three times faster than a human driver—to adjust trajectories or avoid unexpected obstacles. To support this level of autonomy, the vehicle is equipped with an extensive suite of 43 sensors, including high-definition cameras and LiDAR, providing a comprehensive 360-degree view of its surroundings.

The cabin reflects its autonomous nature, completely lacking traditional controls such as a steering wheel or pedals. This design maximizes interior space for passengers, prioritizing comfort and utility over driving mechanics.

Geely intends to begin mass production and launch commercial operations in 2027 through a partnership with Caocao Mobility. However, industry analysts suggest a degree of caution regarding this timeline. While the technical specifications are impressive, Geely’s recent history with other Chinese market projects has faced challenges, raising questions about the speed of adoption and the practical implementation of such an advanced fleet.

Whether the Eva Cab can meet its 2027 goal will depend on clearing regulatory hurdles and proving the reliability of its 4-millisecond reaction system in real-world conditions.
