HPE is a Leader for SAP-certified servers, according to the IDC MarketScape report

HPE’s Head of Compute, Krista Satterthwaite, highlights the company’s leadership in powering growing in-memory processing workloads with HPE Compute Scale-up Servers

In this article

  • HPE Scale-up servers are industry-leading in supporting in-memory processing workloads
  • Tens of thousands of enterprises turn HPE scale-up solutions for ERP mission-critical needs

In-memory processing helps enterprises automate tasks and improve efficiency for their most fundamental business functions: from accounting and HR to inventory and supply chain.

The capability works by processing large data sets at the source, significantly accelerating insights while ensuring high availability of mission-critical applications.

But to power in-memory processing efficiently and with minimal risk to avoid business disruption, enterprises need purpose-built systems that provide key capabilities in scale, speed, reliability and security.

HPE named a Leader in IDC MarketScape for SAP HANA-Certified Servers Appliances
For nearly a decade, HPE has powered in-memory processing workloads for tens of thousands of customers with HPE Compute Scale-up Servers. Today, we are proud to announce that HPE has been named a Leader in the

IDC MarketScape: Worldwide SAP HANA-Certified Server Appliances 2026 Vendor Assessment (doc #US52979525, February 2026).

IDC MarketScape vendor analysis model is designed to provide an overview of the competitive fitness of technology and suppliers in a given market. The research methodology utilizes a rigorous scoring methodology based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria that results in a single graphical illustration of each supplier’s position within a given market. The Capabilities score measures supplier product, go-to-market and business execution in the short-term. The Strategy score measures alignment of supplier strategies with customer requirements in a 3-5-year timeframe. Supplier market share is represented by the size of the icons.

As mission-critical workloads, such as in-memory processing for ERP needs, continue to grow, customers turn to our servers for optimal reliability to efficiently and securely run their applications. To date, we have shipped more than 75,000 servers to target in-memory processing workloads with customers across industries such as retail, manufacturing, and financial services.

Our customers experience faster processing times and overall boost in productivity, which you can learn more about here.

Four reasons why HPE Compute Scale-up Servers are ideal for in-memory processing
Earlier, I mentioned four core system capabilities required to successfully run mission-critical workloads, such as in-memory processing: scalability, speed, reliability and security.

Let’s look at how HPE Compute Scale-up Servers provide industry leadership in each of those four areas.

1)      Flexibility to expand with modular scalability – As enterprises scale, whether acquiring new businesses or expanding existing functions, they need to merge new data sets, quickly. Our servers can be deployed in four socket building blocks and grow up to 32 sockets in a single system. Enterprises gain the flexibility to start small and grow as needs evolve to optimize spending while providing investment protection.

2)      Proven performance at-scale – Faster time-to-insights means faster decision making to unlock value. Our servers deliver unmatched speed for processing large quantities of data to accelerate insights.

3)      Delivering the most reliable servers – Running mission-critical environments means reducing risk as much as possible. The most reliable systems offer optimal availability. According to an IDC Spotlight1, “IDC considers HPE Compute Scale-Up Server 3200 “AL4 systems,” delivering fault tolerance. IDC defines four levels of availability for compute platforms, whereby AL stands for "availability level”…AL4 are compute platforms labeled as "fault tolerant" that guarantee continuous processing under any circumstance with an extensive set of hardware reliability, availability, and serviceability (RAS) features and redundancy throughout the system.”4

4)      Industry’s first and only chip-to-cloud security – Through HPE iLO, our unique IP that builds security protection at the silicon level, we ensure security from the HPE factory floor to a customer’s data center. Our industry-leading security protects business-critical data and assets no matter where they reside.

Continuing to advance scale-up solutions to power next-generation in-memory processingGrowing in-memory processing workloads require new thresholds for performance and scale. Enterprises also need to address a heightened risk of security that comes with larger data sets. They need better ways to scale efficiently, while maximizing their existing space.

Our latest generation of HPE Compute Scale-up Servers, which are second to none in the industry when it comes to scale, help customers optimize data center capacity with advanced performance. They’re getting 33% greater memory to provide more capabilities with higher density with our scale-up solutions.

We’re excited to continue to build on our leadership innovation and plan to deliver advancements to HPE Compute Scale-up servers this year to offer even more performance and flexibility.

I encourage you to learn more about our solutions and how we’re helping customers run a range of mission-critical workloads for their enterprises here
