Photography, power, and plenty of pixels
By Mahananda Bohidar · 2025-12-03 · via Latest News on Mobiles & Tablets | The HinduBusinessLine

OPPO has long been a brand that blurs the line between innovation and practicality, and the Find X9 Pro is the latest proof. This isn’t just another flagship — it has the potential to be a mobile photography powerhouse, a performance juggernaut, and a design statement all rolled into one. Does it live up to its claims? Let’s find out.

Design

At first look, the OPPO Find X9 Pro’s design language is fairly similar to the OnePlus 15s’. It looks minimalist with rounded edges across an aluminium frame, and a glass rear panel in a soft Silk White finish. There’s also a Titanium Charcoal finish, if more serious-looking colours are what you prefer. The camera module stands distinct with its three-lens setup. Measuring 8.25mm thin, the flagship smartphone weighs around 224 grams, and I feel every bit of its heft. One understated relief is the absolute lack of smudges and fingerprints on the rear panel, no matter how much I use the phone.

OPPO’s new Snap Key on the left frame adds a layer of personalised actions that might prove useful . I could customise it to take screenshots or launch the voice recorder or toggle flash, or open AI Mind Space to access information I’ve already asked the device to store. On the right, the Quick Button launches the camera on a double press, and then doubles up as a zoom slider in landscape mode.

Durability seems to be another strong point. With IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, the Find X9 Pro is designed to withstand dust and high-pressure, high-temperature water jets.

Inspired by the classic Hasselblad XPan film camera, the dedicated mode delivers ultra-wide, cinematic photos with a unique 65:24 aspect ratio

Display & Multimedia

The 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with barely-there bezels tends to draw me straight into the content I’m watching. It supports up to 3600 nits peak outdoor brightness, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision — whether it’s watching videos, gaming, or editing photos, everything looks vibrant and punchy.

For low-light comfort, the screen can dim to 1 nit and employs 2160Hz PWM dimming to reduce flicker, making late-night scrolling easier on the eyes and less annoying to the person next to you. The 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner works snappily too. A nifty bonus is the ‘Motion Cues’ accessibility feature that subtly shifts visuals to reduce motion sickness during car rides.

Camera

This is where the Find X9 Pro truly shines. The Hasselblad Master camera system combines a 200 MP Hasselblad telephoto lens, a 50 MP Ultra XDR main camera, a 50 MP ultrawide, and a 2 MP monochrome true colour camera.

The 200 MP telephoto delivers impressive clarity across multiple zoom shots, especially in daylight conditions. It’s also great to carry with you to concerts and open-air performances where you may not have front row seats. There’s also an accompanying 4-mic studio-level setup with Sound Focus in case you want to vlog or preserve those memories in video for later.

The main camera, co-developed with Sony, reproduces Indian skin tones accurately, even under less than optimal lighting. The Hasselblad Portrait Mode delivers some stunning portraits, as always. Lighting, retouch and filter options remain accessible just to the right of the virtual shutter, and are fun to experiment with.

OPPO’s LUMO Image Engine drives computational photography on this smartphone. It offers features such as AI de-noise, HyperTone image rendering, and Lightning Snap, which captures fast action at up to 10 fps with minimal motion blur.

For some creative flex, you can try out the XPAN panoramic shots. Inspired by the classic Hasselblad XPan film camera, this dedicated mode delivers ultra-wide, cinematic photos with a unique 65:24 aspect ratio.

Tech Specs

Under the hood, the OPPO Find X9 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, paired with up to 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage, and cooled by a redesigned vapour chamber. Connectivity is fairly future-proof with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, dual SIM facility, and AI LinkBoost for better connectivity. Gaming and streaming performance is smooth and lag-free, even in demanding scenarios.

Running ColorOS 16 on Android 16, the Find X9 Pro combines a clean UI with smart features. The visual experience is engaging and fluid. Features such as the Snap Key, Quick Button, and AI Mind Space bring in added functionalities. The brand has promised 5 years of OS updates and 6 years of security updates, keeping the phone fairly future-proof.

Battery

The 7500mAh silicon-carbon battery that the OPPO Find X9 Pro packs in easily delivers more than a full day of usage. My typical usage consists of taking photos and a few videos, logging in to a couple of online briefings, playing casual games and scrolling through videos. Charging options are versatile: 80W SUPERVOOC wired, 50W AIRVOOС wireless and 10 W reverse wireless. Long gaming sessions, photography, or streaming marathons are easily covered without intermittent tethering to a wall.

Verdict

The OPPO Find X9 Pro demands a serious premium — ₹ 1,09,999 is no small sum in India. That said, if you’re someone who treats a smartphone as more than a communication gadget — as a camera-ready content tool, a power-user machine, or a dependable everyday workhorse — the Find X9 Pro earns its price.

For its cost, you’re getting a top-tier 6.78 -inch AMOLED display, a best‑in‑class Hasselblad camera system (great for daylight, portraits, concerts, travel and more), and a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip that handles multitasking and heavy gaming without breaking a sweat. Add in ColorOS 16 with long-term updates, the massive 7500 mAh battery, and fast wired and wireless charging.

So, for photography buffs, content creators, power users, business professionals, and anyone who wants a future-proof flagship, it’s good value for money. On the other hand, casual users, those on a budget, or people who prefer compact and lightweight phones might find the price too steep and the extra bells and whistles unnecessary.

Price - ₹1,09,999

Pros - Crisp display, excellent Hasselblad camera system, powerful processor, can do heavy multitasking with ease, massive 7500 mAh battery, premium design with flat edges, long-term software updates.

Cons - Expensive, can feel bulky at 224 grams, some AI features can feel like overkill to the average consumer.
