Bitdefender Named a Visionary in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Endpoint Protection
Daniel Daraban · 2026-05-30 · via Business Insights Cybersecurity Blog by Bitdefender

Bitdefender Recognized for a Fourth Consecutive Year for Its Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision

Cybersecurity is undergoing a fundamental shift. Organizations are no longer focused solely on detecting threats after compromise. Increasingly, they are prioritizing proactive risk reduction, operational resilience, and integrated security platforms that simplify operations while strengthening outcomes.

We believe this is exactly why innovation in endpoint security matters more than ever.

Bitdefender is proud to announce that we have been named a Visionary in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Endpoint Protection.¹ This marks the fourth consecutive year Bitdefender has been positioned in the Visionary quadrant, which in our view, reinforces our long-standing commitment to innovation that addresses the rapidly evolving threat landscape and expanding attack surface.

The 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection evaluated 13 vendors across multiple criteria related to Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute, including innovation, product strategy, customer experience, geographic presence, and operational execution.

The Endpoint Security Market Is Changing

Today’s threats are faster, increasingly AI-enabled, and more difficult to detect using traditional approaches alone.

Attackers now routinely abuse legitimate administrative tools, credentials, and trusted processes to blend into normal activity. Bitdefender research recently found that 84% of major cyberattacks now leverage living-off-the-land (LOTL) techniques designed to evade conventional detection systems.

In this environment, we believe organizations need more than isolated detection capabilities. They need integrated platforms that proactively reduce exploitable conditions while operationalizing detection and response across the full attack lifecycle.

That shift is increasingly reflected in how the endpoint security market itself is evolving.

Our View on Why Bitdefender Stands Apart

In our view, Bitdefender’s continued placement as a Visionary reflects our focus on solving the operational realities modern security teams face every day, including security complexity, alert overload, visibility gaps, and expanding attack surfaces.

Rather than adding fragmented point solutions, Bitdefender GravityZone delivers unified security, risk analytics, and compliance capabilities through a single platform architecture.

This unified approach helps organizations simplify operations while improving visibility, reducing risk, and accelerating response.

As Andrei Florescu, president and general manager of Bitdefender Business Solutions Group, explains:

“We believe four consecutive years as a Visionary reflects our commitment to innovation that goes beyond detection and response by combining security, proactive attack surface reduction, risk management, and compliance in a single platform built for today's threats. To us, this recognition affirms that our prevention-first vision is not just the right direction, it's one we're delivering on now.”

And in our view, it’s also why Bitdefender was recognized as a 2026 Gartner Peer Insights™ Customers’ Choice for Endpoint Protection Platforms. Bitdefender was one of just five vendors to receive this distinction with a rating of 4.8 out of 5 based on 223 GravityZone customer experience reviews as of November 2025.²

Innovation Beyond Traditional Detection and Response

In our opinion, one of the most important shifts happening in cybersecurity is the move from purely reactive security toward proactive resilience.

Organizations increasingly recognize that detection alone is no longer enough. The ability to proactively reduce attacker opportunity, before compromise occurs, is becoming essential.

This is why Bitdefender continues investing heavily in technologies designed to reduce exploitable conditions across modern environments.

One example is GravityZone PHASR (Proactive Hardening and Attack Surface Reduction), a first-to-market innovation that uses AI-driven behavioral analysis to dynamically adapt hardening policies in real time.

Rather than relying on static controls or blanket restrictions, PHASR leverages AI to continuously learn how users and systems normally operate, then proactively reduces risky behaviors, unnecessary privileges, and abuse of legitimate tools without disrupting productivity.

This approach helps organizations reduce exploitable attack paths, minimize operational burden, lower alert fatigue, and improve security outcomes proactively.

Importantly, proactive hardening does not replace detection and response. It enhances it.

Building a More Operationally Sustainable Security Model

Organizations are increasingly looking for ways to reduce complexity, improve operational efficiency, strengthen resilience, and support lean security teams more sustainably.

Bitdefender continues to evolve GravityZone to address these operational realities to help organizations move toward a more integrated and operationally sustainable security model built around prevention, proactive risk reduction, detection, response, and compliance.

The threat landscape will continue evolving rapidly as attackers increasingly leverage automation, AI, and stealth techniques to bypass traditional controls.

In our view, the organizations best positioned for the future will not necessarily be those deploying the most tools. Instead, they will be the organizations that successfully integrate prevention, proactive hardening, detection, response, risk management, and operational simplicity into a cohesive security strategy.

To us, our recognition as a Visionary in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection reflects Bitdefender’s continued focus on helping organizations achieve exactly that.
