Elon Musk revealed that the new Tesla Cybertruck will only be available at its "cheap" $59,999 starting price for 10 days.

Musk posted on X/Twitter, saying "only for ten days," in response to an announcement about the new Cybertruck's specifications, without clarifying what he meant.

The new model has a lower towing capacity, dropping from 5000 kg to 3600 kg, according to the official Tesla website, while some features were removed from the truck in what Tesla described as its "most affordable Cybertruck yet."

This version will be available for $59,990; the Premium version will keep its $79,990 price tag; and the Cyberbeast will be available for $99,990.

For the time being, the Cybertruck's latest version can only be purchased in the United States, while there is no official way to buy any version of the electric pickup truck currently in Israel.

Tesla to start autonomous driving tests in Israel

The news comes as Tesla cleared a key hurdle to fully establish itself in Israel, after the Transportation Ministry announced on February 2 that it had approved Tesla's supervised autonomous driving trials in the country.

This represents the first step towards authorizing the use of Tesla's Full-Self Driving (FSD) system, which allows the cars to operate autonomously with a supervised driver at the wheel.

"The State of Israel leads in innovation with giant steps. Integrating smart autonomous systems on roads, under supervision and control, is another step toward strengthening road safety," said Transportation Minister Miri Regev.

"Israel currently serves as a preferred testing and development arena for advanced vehicle technologies for leading global vehicle manufacturers," added Moshe Ben Zaken, the Transportation Ministry's director general.
