The Worldwide Developers Conference held on June 9 in the U.S. invoked Vietnam multiple times in demonstrations related to Apple Intelligence. The first time was in a presentation of AI-powered writing and journaling assistance in the Journal app.

Apple used an example titled "Hanoi Reflection," describing a two-week trip to Vietnam. The entry referenced experiences such as having a traditional Vietnamese breakfast, drinking egg coffee, and watching a water puppet show. The screen also displayed images of Hanoi street vendors and traditional markets and Ha Long Bay as part of the feature demonstration.

Vietnam appeared again during the introduction of Visual Intelligence, a feature that allows Siri to use the camera to recognize and analyze the surrounding environment.

And, to demonstrate AI-driven nutritional analysis, Apple chose an image of a bowl of chicken pho. The system identified the dish as "chicken pho with noodles, veggies and broth" and provided information about its nutritional content, including fiber, protein, and sodium levels.

The third appearance came when Apple announced the languages supported by the latest generation of Apple Intelligence. Alongside English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese, Vietnamese was listed among the officially supported languages.

Several other Vietnam-related references also appeared briefly during the presentation. These included an image of a person harvesting lotus flowers from a boat in a demonstration of the Image Playground feature, and a user with the surname "Nguyen" used in an account-related example.

The 80-minute event highlighted Vietnam’s growing visibility in Apple’s global presentations.

In recent years, Vietnam has become an increasingly important market for major technology companies. For example, Google has frequently included Vietnamese language support and the Vietnamese market in its initial rollout phases for new products and services.

When Apple Intelligence was introduced, Vietnamese was among the first non-English languages supported by the platform beginning in 2025. Besides, Vietnam has gradually been elevated to one of the first-wave markets globally for new iPhone launches.

The latest generation of Apple Intelligence was one of the key highlights of WWDC 2026 as Apple partnered with Google to incorporate the Gemini model into its AI ecosystem. The new Apple Intelligence features will be released alongside iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, and visionOS 27 in autumn this year.
