My family recently replaced our air conditioner after nearly 20 years but the newly installed unit does not seem to cool as well as the old one.
I bought a Japanese air conditioner in 2008. Until now, it has cooled very well, but both the outdoor and indoor units have become noisy, and the plastic casing has yellowed, making it look unattractive, and so we decided to replace it. Trusting the brand’s durability, I purchased a newer, higher-end 9,000 BTU model from the same company, costing over VND10 million (US$380).
However, after installation yesterday, my spouse and I both felt that the new unit does not provide the same deep cooling sensation as the old one. Is it possible that air conditioners today are made with lower quality than in the past?
