Activity filtering

filtered activity

Redesigning parts of the dashboard can be a good test in how quickly and violently your assumptions are invalidated.

For instance: we're really proud of the work we did to revamp the subscriber detail page:

  • we surfaced the most important or interesting things up top
  • we've got a nice, lovely timeline of everything that happens with a subscriber
  • it all feels much more consistent and cohesive with the rest of the dashboard.

One of the things that quickly came to our attention, though, was the fact that, well, some subscribers have just done a lot.

If you're an author who's been using Buttondown for three or more years, your subscribers might have hundreds or even thousands of activities between clicks or opens or survey responses and comments or upgrading and then churning and then upgrading again. It can be very noisy and very toilsome to scroll through, let alone browse. So we've added a little filter to make it easier for you to grab what you're looking for.
