Phil is a Principal Engineer for Amazon Web Services (AWS), focused on open source leadership and strategy in cloud native container technologies that power AWS services like Fargate, EKS, and ECS.

Phil is a maintainer for the CNCF containerd runtime project, and participates in the Open Container Initiative (OCI) as a member of the Technical Oversight Board (TOB). Phil is also a CNCF Ambassador and a regular speaker on open source and cloud native topics at events around the globe.
