Andhra Pradesh Transport and Youth Welfare Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy on Monday said the TDP-led coalition government had put the State back on the path of development and economic growth during its two years in office under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership.

Addressing a press conference at the Telugu Desam Party headquarters, NTR Bhavan, in Mangalagiri, the Minister thanked the people for backing the coalition government and claimed that investments worth nearly ₹20 lakh crore had been brought to the State in the last two years. He said the government was focused on creating employment opportunities while speeding up welfare and development programmes.

Mr. Ramprasad Reddy also criticised YSRCP president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, alleging that he was repeatedly making baseless accusations against the government and trying to politicise old issues. Defending Mr. Naidu against the recent remarks made by the former Chief Minister, he described him as a leader committed to peace, governance and development.

The Minister alleged that industries had moved out of the State during the previous YSRCP regime, while the present government had succeeded in restoring investor confidence. He also urged Mr. Jagan to play the role of a constructive Opposition leader in the Assembly instead of confining himself to press conferences.

Expressing confidence in the coalition leadership, Mr. Ramprasad Reddy said Andhra Pradesh would continue to progress over the next three years under the leadership of Mr. Naidu, Mr. Nara Lokesh and Mr. Pawan Kalyan.
