The 16th edition of Alva’s Pragati, a placement drive organised by Alva’s Education Foundation, will be held at Alva’s College in Moodbidri from August 7, announced M. Mohan Alva, chairman of the foundation.

Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, he said the two-day free job fair will see around 300 companies participating.

Some of the top recruiting companies represent major sectors such as Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI), information technology (IT), manufacturing, pharma, sales and retail, hospitality, telecommunications, health, media, construction, electronics, education, and NGOs. These sectors offer a large number of openings for graduates and postgraduates in various streams such as medical and para-medical, engineering, arts, commerce, and management, basic sciences, nursing, ITI, diploma, skilled manpower with PU and SSLC, and other qualifications, Dr. Alva said.

Participating companies’ details will be updated in real time at https://alvaspragati.com. Online registration, compulsory for aspirants, should be completed at https://alvaspragati.com/candidate-registration.

An expert team from the foundation will provide orientation to students in various taluks of undivided Dakshina Kannada, offering detailed insights to aspirants regarding vacancies, job descriptions and the scope of the jobs, Dr. Alva added.

Dr. Alva said that accommodation will be arranged for outstation candidates from August 6 onwards.

The foundation has hosted 22 mass placement drives so far. To date, 66,432 candidates have been shortlisted, with 40,848 securing spot job offers, Dr. Alva said.
