72.97% pass in Plus Two higher secondary exam in Thiruvan...

As many as 72.97% of the students who appeared for the Plus Two higher secondary examinations from the district this year became eligible for higher studies. The pass percentage last year was 71.73%.

As many as 30,585 students appeared for the examinations this year in the regular school going category from 175 schools. Of them, 22,318 became eligible for higher education.

The number of students who secured A+ grade in all subjects was 2,564, up from 2,371 last year.

Four schools in the district secured 100% success in the examinations — three unaided and one special school.

They included Government VHSS for the Deaf, Jagathy, where all nine students who appeared for the examination became eligible for higher education; Nirmala Bhavan EM HSS, Kowdiar, where all 148 students who sat for the exam qualified; Sarvodaya Vidyalaya HSS, Nalanchira, where all 49 students qualified; and Carmel Girls HSS, Vazhuthacaud, where all 262 students qualified.

Fourteen students secured 1200/1200. They include Aparna A. from Government Girls HSS, Cotton Hill; Sneha K. from Government Girls HSS, Manacaud; Sravana Sunil S. from Government Girls HSS, Nedumangad; Aleena G.S. from Government Girls HSS, Neyyattinkara; Chandana S.S. from Government Girls HSS, Pattom; J.D. Abhivad from Government Model HSS, Varkala; Abhirav S. from Government HSS, Thonakkal; Niranjana A.S. from RRV Girls HSS, Kilimanoor; Parvathy S.S. from St. John’s Higher Secondary School, Cheriyakolla; Anusree R.S. from Nirmala Bhavan EM HSS, Kowdiar; Aanjana Suseel from Carmel HSS, Vazhuthacaud; Sreeraj L.S. from Sr. Elizabeth Joel CSI EM HSS, Attingal; Devananda S.R. from Government HSS for Girls, Kanniyakulangara; Lakshmi Suresh S. from Chinnamma Memorial Girls HSS, Poojappura.

In the technical school category, 17 of the 25 students who took the examination qualified for higher studies, registering a pass percentage of 68, a sharp decline from 89.29% last year. No student secured A+ in all subjects.

In the open school category, 170 of the 355 students who sat for the examination became eligible, registering a pass percentage of 47.89, slightly down from 48.8% in 2025. Three students secured A+ in all subjects.

In the vocational higher secondary education (VHSE) examinations, the district registered a pass percentage of 76.72, up by 3.73 percentage points from 72.99% in 2025.

Of the 2,595 students who sat for the VHSE examinations in the district, 1,991 became eligible for higher studies.

Government VHSS and THS for Deaf, Jagathy, secured 100% results.
