The All India Food Processors’ Association (AIFPA) on Friday (April 24, 2026) urged the Central government to intervene immediately to cushion the impact of the ongoing geopolitical tensions on the mango pulp export sector. In a representation addressed to the Union Ministries of Finance and Commerce, routed through Rajampeta MP P.V. Midhun Reddy, the AIFPA highlighted severe disruptions along key global shipping routes, including the Red Sea, the Suez Canal, and the Strait of Hormuz.

Speaking to the media here on Friday, the AIFPA chairperson (South Zone) Kattamanchi Govardhan Bobby said that the exporters were being forced to reroute consignments, leading to delays of up to three weeks. The situation has sharply escalated logistics costs, with freight and insurance charges rising three to four times, alongside a war risk surcharge of nearly $2,000 per container.
