APNGGO’s State president A. Vidyasagar has raised serious concerns over the increasing work pressure on staff, and stated that it is unjust to burden employees with official duties during holidays.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, he emphasised that adequate rest is essential for staff to return to work with renewed energy. He also criticised the practice of taking disciplinary action based solely on IVRS call feedback, arguing that such data should serve only as a reference rather than a primary basis for punishment, as it often leads to employees being unfairly targeted.

Turning to financial welfare, he urged the government to immediately appoint a PRC (Pay Revision Commission) chairman to prevent further delays in the salary revision process. He said that nearly 13 lakh employees, teachers, and pensioners are awaiting the new PRC, as the cost of living is rising placing a financial strain on families. He also called for a positive decision regarding Interim Relief (IR) and the systematic payment of Surrender Leave arrears.

Mr.Vidyasagar expressed gratitude to the government and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for releasing ₹21,000 crore to clear arrears related to GPF, APGLI, and retirement benefits. He thanked the Chief Secretary and GAD Secretary for accelerating the promotion process through continuous monitoring and E-DPCs.

Regarding service matters, he noted the government’s positive stance on increasing the retirement age to 60 for employees of public sector undertakings and Gurukul schools, and expressed hope that the orders issued would bring employees notified before 2004 under the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) as per Memo 57.

He highlighted the need to regularise contract employees under Act 30 and requested Additional Quantum Pension for pensioners and notional increments for Village Secretariat staff.

He also called for immediate improvements to the employee health card scheme, which remains ineffective for many families.

APNGGO General Secretary DV Ramana added that the AP JAC and APNGGO are actively negotiating with the government to resolve issues for Village and Ward Secretariat staff and contract workers.

Earlier, Visakhapatnam District President K. Eswara Rao, Secretary M. Ravi Kumar, and other key district leaders joined the state leaders to inaugurate the newly renovated APNGGOs’ District Office in Visakhapatnam.
