The Visakha Steel Employees Union (VSEU) has intensified its protest against the Ministry of Steel (MoS), accusing it of providing misleading information on the Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) portal.

General Secretary Padi Trinadha Rao issued a statement criticising the Ministry for uploading false replies regarding the pending dues of 486 employees who opted for Voluntary Retirement (VRS-2) in September 2024.

He claimed that despite funds being earmarked for these payments as part of the RINL revival package, the management diverted the money for other purposes without authorisation, violating Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) guidelines and Ministry of Finance directives.

In a fresh development, Mr. Trinadha Rao has filed a new grievance highlighting the misuse of these specific VRS funds and the selective payment strategy that favoured VRS-1 participants while leaving VRS-2 and VRS-3 employees unpaid.

Citing recent Supreme Court judgments, the union leader is now demanding that all legitimate dues be released immediately, along with accrued interest to compensate for the harassment faced by the retirees. He has formally appealed to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) to intervene, arguing that the Ministry’s lack of factual verification is defeating the purpose of the government’s grievance redressal platform, according to a release and copies of the complaints, here on Saturday (April 11, 2026).
