Two persons were hacked in separate incidents here on Tuesday (May 12, 2026).

According to the police, Subramani (32) of Mattaiyampatti near Elampillai, developed a relationship with a married woman and recently he eloped with her. On Monday (May 11, 2026) the duo appeared before the Mecheri police. Later, Subramani took her to his house. 

Police said that in the early hours of Tuesday, the woman’s husband Siva and his two friends came to Subramani’s house to kill him and found a person sleeping outside the house. Assuming that the person was Subramani, they hacked Irusagoundar (42), who was sleeping outside Subramani’s house. While he raised an alarm, they fled. Local residents admitted him to a private hospital. The Magudanchavadi police registered a case and are on the lookout for the culprits.

Likewise, C. Chinnasamy (42), a resident of Vellari Velli, developed a relationship with a 45-year-old woman of the same locality. On Monday, while Chinnasamy came to the woman’s house, her son Nitish Kumar (24) stabbed Chinnasamy using a knife. In the attack he sustained grievous injuries and was admitted to a private hospital at Edappadi. The Poolampatti police registered a case and are on the lookout for Nitish Kumar.
