A 28-year-old woman, allegedly attacked her husband with an aruval and killed him on the spot on Saturday.
Preliminary inquiries revealed that Eswaran, 32, of Duraisamipuram, a daily wager, had come home in an inebriated state. It is suspected that a wordy altercation with his wife Easwari, 28, may have led to him attacking her.
However, overpowering him, Eswari forcibly took the aruval from her husband and assaulted him leading to his death.
Police officers said that they have detained the accused and sent the body for post-mortem. Combai police are investigating.
