The verification of rejected postal ballots polled in the election for the Sringeri Assembly constituency in April-May 2023 will be held at IDSG College in Chikkamagaluru on Saturday, as per the instructions from the Karnataka High Court.

Chikkamagaluru Deputy Commissioner N.M. Nagaraj, in a press conference in Chikkamagaluru on Thursday, said that the High Court, in its order on April 6 this year, ordered the verification of 279 rejected postal ballots. As per the orders from the Election Commission, issued on April 22, the Deputy Secretary-2 of Chikkamagaluru Zilla Panchayat had been appointed returning officer for the constituency.
