Out of the four Assembly Constituencies in Theni district, the DMK and the TVK shared two each thus pushing the AIADMK without any victory in the 2026 Assembly elections.
The AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, who during his campaign, said that Theni was the fort of the AIADMK from time immemorial, appeared to have been rejected by the electorate.
