All arrangements are in place for the counting of votes for the Assembly elections in Wayanad district on Monday (May 4, 2026). Votes will be counted at three centres.
Counting for the Kalpetta Assembly constituency will be held at SKMJ High School, while that for the Sulthan Bathery constituency will take place at St. Mary’s College. Counting for the Mananthavady Assembly segment will be conducted at St. Patrick’s School. Final preparations were reviewed by District Collector and District Election Officer D.R. Meghashree.
The strong rooms will be opened in the presence of the observer, Returning Officer/Assistant Returning Officer and candidates or their agents at 6 a.m. Postal ballots will be counted first at 8 a.m. The counting of votes recorded in electronic voting machines (EVMs) will begin 30 minutes after the commencement of postal ballot counting.
