Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka called upon Congress cadres to closely monitor the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise to ensure that no eligible voter is deprived of the right to vote.

Addressing the party Booth Level Agents (BLAs) and other key functionaries in Wyra of Khammam district on Wednesday, Mr. Vikramarka urged them to remain vigilant regarding voter registration, correction and mapping processes.

Referring to advancements in technology, social media and artificial intelligence, he highlighted the changing nature of the electoral process.

“Voter registration and inclusion processes were once carried out through traditional methods, but today social media has become widespread,” he noted.

He added that complete voter information was being compiled ward-wise and village-wise, while voter deletion processes were also being undertaken through various data management mechanisms.

He stressed that everyone should remain vigilant about these developments.

Mr. Vikramarka said that similar systems had been used in States such as Bihar and West Bengal to ‘systematically consolidate voter data’.

He alleged that, through the SIR process, between 30,000 and 40,000 votes had been removed in certain constituencies, significantly affecting electoral outcomes.

He emphasised that every Congress worker must ensure that the names of all eligible voters remain on the electoral rolls. Particular attention should be paid to voters whose details remain in the ‘unmapped’ category, and necessary steps should be taken to safeguard their voting rights.

Despite inheriting financial challenges and a heavy debt burden from the BRS government, the people’s government is implementing welfare schemes on a record scale, he said.

Mr. Vikramarka flayed certain political opponents, accusing them of attempting to mislead the people of Telangana through misinformation and fabricated narratives.

Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao among others were present.
