International Yoga Day celebration held at Rojavanam International School.

National level technical workshop

The Department of Civil Engineering at National Engineering College, Kovilpatti, in partnership with National Corrosion Council of India (NCCI), Karaikudi and CSIR-Central Electro Chemical Research Institute (CECRI) conducted a two-day national technical workshop on ‘Corrosion and its Control’ on the college campus.

The technical session featured expert lectures on Corrosion and Fundamentals, Advancements in Organic Coatings for Corrosion Protection: Existing Insights and Future Investigations, and Metallurgical Strategies for Corrosion Control: From Alloy Design to Service Life Prediction.

Nearly 70 students, research scholars, faculty members, engineers and industry professionals from various parts of the state participated in the first day of the workshop.

The second day’s programme includes hands-on training sessions covering corrosion chemistry, corrosion monitoring techniques, corrosion mitigation methods, cathodic system protection and several others.

Professional development programme

St. Mary’s College (autonomous), Thoothukudi, has organised a two-day professional development programme aimed at empowering educators with innovative approaches and emerging trends in higher education.

The programmes titled “Holistic and Authentic Approach in Education: New Trends and Challenges-Teacher’s Role” and “Reimagining Innovative Pedagogy through Course Outcomes, Analytics, Assessment and AI,” were organised.

Fr. A. Michael John, SJ, Director and Associate Professor, Joseph Institute of Management and M.P. Vijayakumar, Vice-Chairperson, Tamil Nadu State Council for Higher Education (TANSCHE), attended the programme as its resource persons and delivered an insightful speech on their respective topics.

International Yoga Day

Rojavanam International School, Nagercoil, organised an International Yoga Day celebrations. Jayaraj, AYUSH Yoga Medical Officer attended the event as chief guest and presented certificates of appreciation to students who had won in various competitions, organised in connection with International Yoga Day.

More than 1,400 students, 100 parents, teachers and volunteers took part in the yoga session organised as part of the celebrations.

Graduation day

The graduation ceremony of Maria College of Nursing and Maria College of Physiotherapy, Attoor was held with great enthusiasm.

Chairman G. Russell Raj and Vice-Chairperson Shiny Theresa inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Y. Sujar, Director of Maria Educational Institutions, presided over the event

R. Shankar Shanmugam, Registrar of the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council, delivered the graduation day address and conferred degrees upon students.

At the event, a total of 72 students were awarded with degrees, while three students were honoured with awards for academic excellence.
