Visakhapatnam will host the southern regional edition of World Food India on July 9 and 10 at the Andhra University Engineering College Grounds, bringing together stakeholders from the food processing, food technology, exports and investment sectors.

The event is being organised by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, with the Andhra Pradesh government as the host State and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) as the event partner.

Representatives from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Puducherry, Lakshadweep and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are expected to participate. The summit will feature exhibitions, B2B and B2G meetings, buyer-seller meets, thematic sessions and CEO roundtables.

The summit is aimed at attracting investment in the food processing sector, showing modern technologies, building industrial partnerships and expanding export opportunities. Organisers said the event would focus on strengthening the food processing ecosystem in the State, creating value-added opportunities for farmers and encouraging start-ups in the sector. Business firms and food processing units from participating States are expected to set up exhibitions on their products, processing infrastructure and investment potential. Representatives of the participating States, industry leaders, investors and Central and State government officials are expected to discuss the future direction of the food sector.

According to officials of the AP Food Processing Society, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Union and State Ministers concerned, and Ministers from southern States are likely to attend the inaugural session.

A preliminary review meeting on arrangements for the summit was held at the Collectorate on Tuesday (May 26, 2026) under the chairmanship of Joint Collector G. Vidhadhari. AP Food Processing Society Chief Executive Officer G. Shekhar Babu, General Manager Hanuman Nayak, Central government representative Surender Singh, District Revenue Officer M. Visweswara Naidu, FICCI representatives and officials of various nodal agencies participated.
