The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, approved a series of major industrial, clean energy, healthcare and infrastructure initiatives during a meeting held at the Secretariat on Thursday.

The Cabinet gave the green signal to 25 major projects involving investments worth nearly ₹2 lakh crore, and were expected to generate substantial employment opportunities across various sectors.

Addressing the media later, Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy said that proposals related to large-scale industrial projects, infrastructure expansion and horticulture development were cleared.

The Cabinet approved major industrial investments, including projects by Reliance Industries, Apollo Tyres, Royal Enfield and Carrier Airconditioning.

The proposals cover solar manufacturing, AI data centres, automobile and AC production units, with investments exceeding ₹1.2 lakh crore and significant employment generation across Andhra Pradesh.

The Cabinet approved the establishment of ‘AP FIRST’ in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Tirupati and the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) to promote innovation and advanced technology. It also cleared a defence R&D facility in Amaravati and sanctioned ₹790.38 crore for Madakasira Branch Canal expansion works, he said.

The Cabinet approved 904 Mobile Medical Units under the ‘104 Diagnostic Programme’ and cleared the ‘Sanjeevani’ digital healthcare system to strengthen public health services.

In agriculture, it approved the Integrated Horticulture Development Plan (IHDP) with an estimated outlay of nearly ₹1 lakh crore to develop Rayalaseema as a global horticulture hub, the Minister added.
