BJP State president P.V.N. Madhav has criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his recent comments on student issues, describing them as irresponsible and potentially provocative.

In a statement on Tuesday, Mr. Madhav alleged that Mr. Rahul Gandhi’s remarks were aimed at inciting students and encouraging agitation rather than promoting constructive dialogue on issues affecting the country’s youth.

He said, as Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Rahul Gandhi had a responsibility to engage in sincere discussions on the challenges faced by students and young people. Instead, Mr. Madhav argued, the Congress leader was attempting to draw students into political movements and street protests for political gain.

“Expressing concern over the future of students is legitimate, but exploiting their emotions for partisan purposes is unacceptable. The youth of the country deserve solutions and opportunities rather than political confrontation,” he said.

Defending the Union government, Mr. Madhav said the administration led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi remained committed to transparency, accountability and youth empowerment. He stated that whenever shortcomings emerged in examinations or recruitment processes, the government took corrective measures to address them and strengthen institutional mechanisms.

The BJP leader further accused the Congress of viewing every issue through a political lens and attempting to create frustration and distrust among young people. In contrast, he said, the BJP government’s focus was on expanding opportunities and ensuring a brighter future for the nation’s youth.

He appealed to students to remain focused on building their careers and not be influenced by political provocations. He emphasised that young people should concentrate on education, skill development and employment opportunities rather than becoming tools in political campaigns.
