U.S.-Iran agree on 60-day ceasefire extension, pending Trump approval

U.S. and Iranian negotiators have agreed on a framework for a 60-day ceasefire extension deal, but it still needs President Donald Trump’s approval, U.S. sources told AFP. The sources confirmed reporting by the Axios news outlet that the two sides had reached an agreement on a memorandum of understanding to prolong the truce and launch negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program.

Indian Air Force likely to oversee transport of NEET-UG re-test papers

The government is considering involving the defence forces to manage logistics and transportation for the NEET-UG 2026 re-test, scheduled for June 21. This measure follows the cancellation of the original examination after an alleged question paper leak. According to officials, a proposal has been prepared to deploy the IAF to provide transportation and logistics support to securely move question papers from printing presses to examination centres across the country. The final decision is expected after consultations with the Prime Minister’s Office.

First Kuki village in Churachandpur resettled 3 years after conflict began

The first Kuki village in Manipur’s Churachandpur district was resettled on Thursday (May 28, 2026) after three years, but only the males have returned from a relief camp, while their families continue to live there. Khodang, a village near the “buffer zone”, is close to where the Churachandpur district meets the Imphal Valley’s Bishnupur and Kakching districts.
