The Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Udyog Yojana, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 15, 2025, is a job creation scheme aimed at increasing employment opportunities in the private sector for the first time in India, Regional Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner in Raichur Niraj Kumar has said.

He was addressing a press conference in Raichur on Tuesday.

The scheme aims to create 3.5 crore jobs between August 1, 2025 and July 31, 2027 with an outlay of ₹1 lakh crore, he said. He added that this scheme consists of two sections: Part A focuses on first-time workers and Part B focuses on employers or recruiters.

Earlier, the scheme was named the Employment Related Incentive Scheme. On August 1, 2025, the scheme was renamed Viksit Bharat Udyog Yojana and Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially announced it during his Independence Day speech on August 15.

Under the scheme, young employees who get their first jobs in the private sector will receive an incentive of ₹15,000 which will be transferred directly to their bank accounts.

This incentive will be disbursed in two instalments. The first will be given after them completing six months of employment and the second after them completing 12 months, he said and added: “To create new jobs, the government provides employers with incentives of up to ₹3,000 per month for each new employee.”

The scheme is targeted at individuals who are registered with the Employees Provident Fund Organisation and are working in the private sector for the first time and have a monthly salary of up to ₹1 lakh. And, employees should have got their names registered with the EPFO after August 2025.

July 19 telecast

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with the beneficiaries of this scheme from Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on July 19 and the event will be telecast live in 200 places in the country, including the Navodaya Institute of Technology in Raichur, he said.

Regional Assistant Provident Fund Office accountants P. Raghavendra and Sharanabasava, Senior Assistant Director of the Information and Public Relations Department G. Suresh and others were present.
