A traffic awareness programme was conducted at Bowenpally Market in Trimulgherry on Friday, focusing on road safety and responsible driving practices.
During the session, Trimulgherry Traffic ACP G. Shankar Raju addressed drivers and riders gathered at Bowenpally Market, explaining key traffic rules and regulations.
Participants were sensitised on various aspects of road safety, with emphasis on wearing helmets, avoiding underage driving, preventing drunk driving, using seat belts, and avoiding the use of mobile phones while driving. Officials also highlighted the risks associated with traffic violations and the importance of disciplined road behaviour.
An auto driver, Ramanaiah, was felicitated during the programme for maintaining an accident-free driving record spanning 30 years.
The awareness session was attended by Inspector V. Sardar Naik, RI I.V. Ramanaiah, along with Sub-Inspectors of Tirmulgherry Traffic Police Station and members of the Bowenpally Market Committee.
Officials said such awareness initiatives are being regularly conducted to promote safer roads and reduce traffic violations across the city.
