State-run Tasmac liquor outlets at several locations in Coimbatore district were opened late on Monday after employees went on a protest over difficulties faced by them in the empty bottle buy-back scheme.

Organised by the joint action committee (JAC) of trade unions of Tasmac employees in Coimbatore, they staged the protest in front of the office of the Senior Regional Manager (SRM) of Tasmac near Peelamedu in the city.
