Two brothers, including a history-sheeter, S. Lakshmanan, attacked one of their relatives, M. Rajapandian with knife and iron pipe at Vikkramangalam near Usilampatti on Tuesday.

According to police, the brothers, including Raman, had taken the motorbike of Rajapandi the previous day and had not returned it.

Hence, Rajapandi complained about it to their father, Sekar.

Angered over this, the brothers picked up a quarrel with Rajapandi and abused him in filthy language.

Later, while Raman attacked him on his head with a knife, Lakshmanan attempted to hit him with an iron pipe.

However, the victim managed to flee from the scene and sought refuge in the house of one Siva.

The brothers later pelted stones on Siva’s house and damaged window panes.

Rajapandi has been admitted to the Government Hospital in Usilampatti.

Vikkramangalam police have booked the accused for asault and criminal intimidation.
